Introduction Folks

On the 20th September, Andy, Liz and I will be starting our epic 3 day bicycle relay from the Bottom of beautiful Cornwall to the tip of Scotland. We shall take it in turns to cycle 24hrs a day with a beaten up Campervan and two drivers to support us along the way!

Here is a little about the cyclists:

Kris Bearryman:

1) Why do you want to do it?
Answer: Easy, why the hell not.......it beats watching TV. Plus its my birthday on the second day and i wanted to do something different and thought about this challenge and suspected loopy liz from work would give it a whirl!

2) What are you biggest concerns?
Answer: Going without any beer for 3 days, getting really bad ball rash, being knocked off the bike by ignorant drivers and finding it too easy.....cough!

3) What experience do you have of adventure/cycling?
Answer: I have completed numerous unsupported bicyle tours around the world, totalling to about 16000 miles so i am quite excited about the prosect about someone carrying my stuff!

Final Word: Joking aside this is going to be an extremely tough challenge. From sleep depreviation, physical tiredness, logistical issues and navigating across the country, i expect this 1000 mile adventure to last with us forever.

Andy Devlin:

1) Why do you want to do it?
Answer: It’s part of my calorie controlled diet

2) What are you biggest concerns?
Answer:  Putting on weight

3) What experience do you have of adventure/cycling?
Answer:  I’ve managed a couple of 200 KM audax’s this year, most recently the new forest on and off shore. I completed the coast to coast a couple of months ago which took over 15 hours but did include repairing a broken spoke. It started in Seascale and finished in Whitby having gone over some of the largest passes the Lake District has to offer.

Final Word:I’ve been looking at a few ‘classic routes’ and have been unsure which one to try next so when Loopy Liz asked me if I fancied a threesome I naturally thought of other things. Once back on cycling though I realise this was one of the routes I had on my list, so saying yes was easy. (I’d also like add that saying no to Liz is actually quite easy, just not challenges!)

Loopy Liz:

1) Why do you want to do it?
Answer:I can't remember!!!

2) What are you biggest concerns?
Answer:Falling off, Hills, Hills, trying to sleep with Andy's snoring-I don't know about Kris's snoring yet

3) What experience do you have of adventure/cycling?
Answer:Cycling- one round Kent thing with Andy last year. Not so much this year!!!! Adventure- Guess Holiday's mainly:) Occasionally I go for a little dip in the sea.

Final Word: I think this is a bad idea!
